I think the best way to learn, is through conversation. Especially with a heavy content subject like biology, the best way that I revised and memorised my materials during my degree was through talking to my friends about it. Despite the vast amount of memorising required, there is beauty in biology. Because biology is within and all around us, it can be mostly relatable and a lot of it can be common sense.
Using different analogies and anecdotes can help you remember content better as you will remember through conversations. The human mind works in a way where we retain memories rather selectively, where we would rather remember conversations more than we would like to remember what we have crammed a certain subject the night before an exam. Once we have understood the content of the subject, incorporating them into our conversations will help you retain the content better.
