About Tom
I have a PhD in biochemistry and three decades of experience teaching undergraduate students how to excel in chemistry and biochemistry. I hold a tenured faculty position at a major university in Atlanta, USA and have mentored over fifty undergraduate and a dozen graduate students in research and helped advise and guide them through thier academic program.

Lessons in (pre-) nursing chemistry, undergraduate biochemistry, introductory chemistry, and biophysical chemistry are offered. I use active learning practices to constantly engage students in my courses. My tutoring will build solid chemistry skills that are applicable to industry and academic settings. I use free open-access materials and primary literature to ensure a rigorous yet accessible set of reference materials. I do occasionally assign homework and expect preparation from my students but those assignments are doable and only reinforce our discussions of assigned readings. Many former students in my classes are practicing physicians or researchers at prestigious R1 universities. My experience, enthusiasm and accomplishments set me apart from your other tutors.
