About Ilka
I am currently completing a Master's degree in chemistry at the University of Johannesburg. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Pretoria and obtained a B.Sc. in Biochemistry. I want to inspire more students to pursue scientific fields, but I understand that it can be quite challenging. Therefore, I want to help create an environment where math and science are not as intimidating.

My extensive background in science, especially chemistry and biology, allows me to tackle the root causes of problems that students face. I am comfortable teaching in both English and Afrikaans. In a typical lesson, students can expect an in-depth discussion of the topic, where student involvement is encouraged, followed by working through examples. My lessons are more aimed at senior high school students; however, I am also comfortable tutoring younger students.
