I am a student at the University of California, Berkeley, and I come from a highly competitive academic background. Having experienced rigorous coursework and high-pressure exams myself, I understand how important these tests are and what it takes to succeed in them. As a tutor, my goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to make sure they truly understand why it’s correct. I focus on building intuition first, then connecting it to equations and problem-solving strategies. I break complex concepts into simple steps, use visual explanations when possible, and constantly check for understanding so students don’t fall behind.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of previous material or any questions the student has. Then we introduce or revisit a key concept, followed by guided practice where I walk the student through problems step-by-step. As the lesson progresses, I gradually reduce guidance so the student can solve problems independently. We finish with a summary of key ideas and, if needed, targeted practice problems to reinforce learning.
