About Dorotea
I'm a mechanical engineering major at UC Berkeley with experience tutoring math and physics for elementary , middle and high school students. My students have been able to significantly improve their class grades and testing results, and I've been both tutoring and helping out classmates with work for 5 years.

I think it's important to have a deeper understanding of topics and why they're important in real life- and that full understanding and context makes topics more interesting. I also think everyone is capable of learning anything- they just learn differently, and figuring out what makes sense to each student is the best way to teach, so tutoring is always a little different depending on who I'm working with. Generally I look at the work students are assigned with them, ask them to solve problems while talking out their logic, and figure out where they're struggling or what to practice. I really enjoy the topics I tutor and I really like to see other people appreciate them as well- I'm very patient and try my best to make students comfortable with the material, not to get stressed or frustrated about it.
