About Ceilon
I have been a passionate artmaker for my entire life. As an art teacher for more than two decades, possessing a BFA in visual fine arts, I have taught every age group from pre-K to high school. I have also taught adults of all ages to draw and paint. Helping art students of all ages to discover their creative potential, and to master the skills necessary to enjoy drawing and painting without frustration, is something I'm very good at. I look forward to helping you become the creative person you've always wanted to be.

My approach as a tutor is to meet every student where they are and guide them to the place they ultimately want to be. Whether you are a rank beginner or have lots of experience, I will help you get to the next level in the area of artmaking you want to master.
In a typical lesson, we will do a quick warm-up exercise (no more than five minutes) to break into the activity we'll be covering during that lesson. We'll go over the plan for the lesson, step-by-step, so you know what to expect during each lesson. Then we'll do the activity. We finish each lesson by reflecting on what we did, what progress we made, and where we have room for improvement. Finally, we briefly discuss what we will do in the next lesson.
What sets me apart as an art tutor is that I have decades of experience teaching students of every age group and level of understanding. I also take an individual approach and help each student to achieve their own individual goals.
My art lessons are for anyone from beginner to intermediate ability (or no ability whatsoever). I will help you get started and overcome your fear of drawing or painting with watercolor, and I will offer you challenges as you learn more (or if you are already at an intermediate level) that will stretch your abilities and help you grow as an artist. I will take you to an advanced stage if you want to go that far, getting you ready to submit your work to art shows, competitions, or for sale.
