About Lachlan
Hi, I’m Lachlan, a first-year University of Sydney engineering student who recently completed the HSC, achieving a Band 6 in Advanced Mathematics. I enjoy math and I want to help students feel more confident and less stressed when approaching difficult problems, while also hopefully rekindling their passion for the subject as well.
I understand the challenges of HSC math because I’ve recently been through it myself, so I focus on making concepts clear and showing practical ways to approach exam questions. On top of this, throughout HSC time I was happily helping my classmates with regular issues and would love to extend my experience to others.

My lessons are structured and focused on improving both understanding and exam performance. I typically run 1-hour online sessions where we start by identifying problem areas, then break down concepts step-by-step and apply them to HSC-style questions from both past papers and my own knowledge.
I focus heavily on exam technique, showing students how to approach different question types and avoid common mistakes. Lessons are interactive, with students working through problems rather than just watching.
I achieved a Band 6 in HSC Advanced Mathematics and am currently studying engineering at the University of Sydney. My lessons are suited for Year 10–12 students (willing to accept younger students though), including those preparing for the HSC or looking to build confidence in maths.
