About Fia
Hi! I'm a second year law and commerce student at the ANU and am originally from Newcastle where I attended school at Merewether High School, a selective school for gifted and talented students. I love to read, write and have done quite a bit of debating over the years which has really helped me learn how to structure and produce a well-written argument. I believe my interests have allowed me to perform proficiently in English during school and they are continuing to help me in my Law degree. I am extremely passionate about teaching and mentoring which I have been doing for the past 2 years and would love to share my knowledge and advice to help you with your studies in English!

I believe in a teaching approach which is highly integrative of the student's thoughts and ideas. At the end of the day, it is the student who must understand and apply what is being taught, so my methodology focuses on teaching students how to THINK like a top english student. I don't find any merit in producing responses and giving ideas for the student to merely memorise and reproduce in an exam. Instead, I would focus on teaching techniques and thought-processes which are beneficial in writing a polished response, forming solid arguments and understanding the meaning behind prescribed texts and materials.
