About Hanna
I am a high-achieving USYD Undergraduate student studying a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Chemistry and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. I have tutored for 100+ hours, and have a passion for breaking down complex topics into their foundational building blocks, with the hope that the student can use these to understand all topics they come across in HSC Chemistry.
Chemistry has always been a subject I loved. In highschool, I spent countless hours creating detailed note documents for HSC Chemistry containing information for each syllabus dot-point. I found that all of Chemistry could be explained by a few simple ideas about the interaction of particles, and that these simple ideas were the foundational knowledge that made all of Chemistry much easier to understand.
This combats the common perception that Chemistry is hard. In fact, I believe that Chemistry can be understood by everyone, and that time is instead the most important factor in ensuring knowledge retention. I achieved a Band 6 in HSC Chemistry, and have recieved high distinctions in all of my University classes so far, indicating that my approach of gaining an intuitive understanding of fundamental concepts allowed me to apply these ideas to tricky and complex exam questions.
I have always enjoyed teaching others, no matter the subject. In high school, I would come home and teach my dad what I learnt in Chemistry, and I often assisted my classmates during our lessons. I am so happy to now be able to continue tutoring as a job, and take pride in offering my best support to students aiming to succeed in HSC Chemistry!

These tutoring lessons are for HSC Chemistry students at any level of competency who want support understanding chemistry concepts and achieving their goal HSC results.
My teaching style focuses on the development of an intuitive understanding of fundamental chemistry concepts so that even difficult content comes naturally to the student, which is particularly useful for HSC curveball questions. This will look like understanding how subatomic particles interact, and then using this knowledge to understand all HSC topics: why atoms bond, why molecules react, properties of equilibrium solutions, acid and base reactions, and the rest!
I am always available for support outside of lessons (just send me an email!), and I provide personalised homework suggestions to practice the content learned during each lesson.
I will provide support in the following ways:
-developing an intuitive understanding and applying this to all HSC topics
-understanding classwork
-formulating notes
-answering any chemistry questions
-identifying gaps in knowledge
-formulating personalised practice material or homework
-exam preparation
