About Blake
My name is Blake, and I am an astrophysics student at The Ohio State University with a strong background in physics, mathematics, astronomy, and scientific computing. I have experience conducting undergraduate research in atmospheric modeling and spectroscopy, including work involving exoplanet biosignature detection and scientific data analysis.
I have also worked as a teaching assistant at Northwestern University, where I helped students with aerospace engineering, biomedical engineering, robotics, programming, and science concepts. Through that experience, I learned how to explain difficult ideas clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and help students feel more confident in their abilities.
As a tutor, I am patient, organized, and focused on helping students truly understand the material rather than simply memorize steps. My name is Blake, and my tutoring approach is patient, clear, and focused on real understanding. I do not just give students formulas and expect them to memorize steps. Instead, I help them understand why a method works, how to recognize the right approach, and how to build confidence solving problems on their own.
A typical lesson starts by identifying what the student is currently working on and where they feel stuck. What sets me apart is my background as an astrophysics student and researcher.
