About Elizabeth

Hello! I’m Elizabeth, an aspiring mechanical engineer with a strong background in mathematics, physics, chemistry as well as computer science. I have taken multiple standardized tests and completed high school with an A-Level certificate. I specialize in helping middle and high school students understand complex science and math concepts through clear, practical explanations tailored to each student’s learning style. I focus on breaking down difficult topics into manageable steps, using real-world examples to make lessons relatable and memorable. My teaching method is adaptive and student-centered: I assess your strengths and challenges, then create a customized plan that targets your needs and goals. Lessons are designed to build both understanding and confidence, preparing you for exams, schoolwork, or simply to get ahead. If you’re ready to move past confusion and frustration in math or science, I’m here to help you succeed.

Teaching Method and Techniques:

I use a concept-driven, adaptive teaching style: no cookie-cutter lessons here. I start by identifying your current understanding and gaps - typically done within the first free session - , then tailor explanations to your learning style inclusive of visual, auditory, or hands-on requirements. I emphasize breaking down complex theories into digestible, real-world examples, so the material isn’t just memorized but truly understood and internalized.

Techniques I rely on include:
• Step-by-step problem-solving walkthroughs
• Concept mapping to visualize relationships
• Active questioning to promote critical thinking
• Regular mini-quizzes to reinforce retention and gauge progression

A Typical Lesson Plan :
1. Review & Assess: Quick recap of previous material and discussion of any questions.
2. Targeted Teaching: Introduce and explain new concepts using relatable examples and analogies.
3. Guided Practice: Work through problems together, highlighting common pitfalls.
4. Independent Practice: Assign tailored exercises to apply what you’ve learned.
5. Summary & Feedback: Recap key takeaways, answer questions, and plan next steps.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
• I’m not just repeating textbook content I’m translating complex STEM subjects into practical, intuitive understanding.
• I customize every lesson to your unique needs because I understand everyone learns differently.
• As a mechanical engineering student, I bring current academic knowledge and real-world context, which helps connect theory with application furthering understanding.
• I’m straightforward and patient; no fluff, no judgment, just clear guidance to help you build confidence.

Who the Lessons Are For:
• Middle and high school students struggling with math, physics, or chemistry.
• Learners who want to deepen their understanding beyond rote memorization.
• Beginners and intermediate students aiming to build a solid STEM foundation.
