About Sophia
Hi, I'm Sophia, a RIBA Part 1 Architectural Assistant currently working with a leading top 10 architecture firm in England.
In my role, I contribute to large-scale projects across student accommodation, healthcare, hospitality, and education, primarily focusing on the South of England. Additionally, I have gained valuable experience in landscape architecture through my work as an Architectural Assistant.
I am pursuing my Master’s in Architecture through a Level 7 Apprenticeship, which will also involve completing my RIBA Part 3 qualification. During both my undergraduate and master’s studies, I developed a strong passion for dementia-friendly architecture and design, conducting extensive research in this area. I am also deeply interested in creating safe, functional spaces for women fleeing domestic violence. My dissertation explored the evolution of facadism, further broadening my architectural knowledge.
Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I worked as a Senior Student Ambassador for three years, gaining extensive experience in supporting students with university applications and interviews.
I can offer assistance with a wide range of areas, including but not limited to:
• Preparing for university interviews and applications, including portfolio development.
• Assistance with portfolio creation, reports, essays, and dissertations.
• Design development for architecture and interior design students (site analysis, massing, sketching, concept development/drawings).
• Crafting CVs, job applications, and university applications.
• Research and analysis for architecture and design projects.
• Taking a design from concept through to detailed design.
• 2D drawings (by hand) and 3D design using SketchUp and Revit.
• Producing renders, presentations, and portfolios using software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Twinmotion, and Enscape.

My teaching style is centred around helping you achieve your goals while providing ongoing support throughout the process. We'll work together to identify areas where you feel you need to grow, and we'll review any feedback you've received to pinpoint specific improvements. From there, we'll create a clear action plan to tackle those areas, making sure we work efficiently and consistently toward your objectives. My aim is to ensure you're always progressing and confident in your development.
In our tutorial sessions, I aim to keep things relaxed and conversational, making it easier for you to engage and learn. I often share example drawings and my own work to spark discussion and help clarify what’s expected. I'll give you detailed feedback on your current projects both written and verbal, so you’ll know exactly where you stand and how to improve. We'll also cover strategies to manage your time effectively and plan what can be done before the next session, as well as how to prepare for your final submissions. If you hit a roadblock between sessions, feel free to reach out via email. I can also review your progress before each session to identify any potential mistakes or weaknesses, so we can address them early on.
