About Madison
Hi! I'm Maddie, a 24-year-old masters graduate with a great passion for the subjects I teach.
I have 3 years of experience with online tutoring, teaching over 700 lessons and receiving 100% 5-star reviews on another site. I began tutoring part-time whilst finishing my master's thesis, as I was looking for flexible and rewarding work. Since then, my love for teaching and helping students to achieve their potential has been solidified, and I now hope to continue supporting students as much as possible.

My lessons can range from 1-2 hours, depending on preference. My lesson approaches vary depending on the level and the individual needs of each student. Generally, I like to help with creating and providing clear resources that can be referred back to easily and used for revision. I encourage students to recall what they know/remember, but I am also willing to help as much as is necessary. At times I use quiz-like tasks to encourage students to use active recall to improve their memorisation of quotations and important facts and figures.
In my GCSE Literature lessons, I aim to aid your understanding of the subject, breaking it down into themes/characters that can be interconnected. I seek to use these connections to help you understand the bigger picture, whilst also making each quotation etc. that you learn as valuable as possible.
For Religious Studies, I aim to cover the content thoroughly, whilst also encouraging students to develop their critical thinking skills to deepen understanding of the subject and improve essay writing skills.
My Classical Civilisation lessons for GCSE and A-Level aim to support students in their knowledge and understanding of the content, whilst using my own knowledge of the subject to make lessons as interesting as possible for my students. I encourage students to share their own interpretations and ideas, with the aim of developing critical thinking skills and essay writing for exams.
I achieved an A* at GCSE for both English Literature and Religious Studies, as well as a high A at A-Level for both. I have a first-class honours degree in Ancient History and Classical Archaeology, and achieved a distinction in my MA in Visual and Material Culture of Ancient Rome. I also studied the City of Rome course at the British School at Rome in 2022.
