About Stavros

My aviation journey began in 2008 when I took to the skies on my 12th birthday from Southend Airport. From that moment, I was captivated by the aviation bug, setting my sights firmly on the path to becoming a Pilot. Over the span of the next 15 years, I continuously pursued my passion. Graduating from the University of Hertfordshire in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, I gained a profound understanding of aircraft design and engineering intricacies. This academic foundation equipped me with a comprehensive knowledge base essential for navigating the complexities of aviation. Subsequently, I was recruited by Ryanair as an Engineering Graduate Manager, where I quickly ascended to join the UK Engineering Management team. My tenure within the airline not only deepened my technical expertise in aircraft and maintenance but also provided invaluable insights into airline operations and commercial aviation standards. Drawing upon this wealth of experience, I embarked on the next phase of my journey, pursuing my Private Pilot Licence (PPL) at Stapleford Flight Centre. In 2023, I then dedicated myself to full-time classroom training for my Airline Transport Pilot Licences (ATPLs), successfully completing the course in the summer of the same year for both the UKCAA and EASA, and later completing my CPL, MEIR and APS MCC the following year. Currently, I am serving as a First Officer on the Airbus A320 family for easyJet.

Throughout my journey, I encountered and overcame numerous challenges. Drawing upon my experiences, I often found myself offering guidance and support to others. Discovering a genuine passion for mentoring and sharing knowledge, I decided to take up teaching alongside my training and found a deeper passion which has lead me to have taught professionally either privately and in the classroom to countless students.

Having completed PPL and ATPL Theory training (UKCAA and EASA), I recognise the critical importance of instilling confidence in navigating the course content and tackling exam questions effectively. My objective is to cultivate this confidence within you, fostering a relaxed, enjoyable, and supportive learning environment tailored to your individual pace and style. Drawing upon my background as both a Student Commercial Pilot and Aerospace Engineer, and now a professional Airline Pilot - I integrate a diverse array of instructional tools and techniques into our sessions. These include real-world examples, and comprehensive notes derived from my hands-on experience in the field. NOT DEATH BY POWERPOINT. By utilising these to our advantage, I will ensure that you receive a well-rounded education that prepares you not only for exams but also for success in the wonderful world of aviation.

Stavros was recommended to me by a friend. He was very flexible with dates and times.The teaching style he uses to teach online works really well. He broke down subjects section by section and is an absolute wizard at flight planning & GNAV! . He’s able to turn confusing topics into something that you are able to understand and digest. By the end I was scoring high 90%-100% in practice tests which became a clear indicator I was ready for an exam.

1) At what age did your interest in aviation begin? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.
I had my first ever flying lesson at the age of 12 years old at Southend Airport. I knew I wanted to be a pilot when I grew up but that particular day really ignited the spark and passion within me.
2) What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue flying?
It has been a life long dream to get into flying and I overcame countless obstacles to be able to do it. That alone motivates me to keep going. But above all it is the thrill of flight! Every time I fly I still get a buzz and can't help but think to myself "wow I am really doing this".
3) Do you have an aviation achievement that you're particularly proud of?
I was incredibly proud of my experience within the Aviation industry prior to actually learning to fly. I was part of the Aircraft Engineering Management team for one of the biggest Airlines in Europe. We ran the UK operations where I learnt a lot a whole lot about Aviation.

In terms of flying, my greatest moment was getting my Commercial Pilot's Licence. Being told "you've passed" by an examiner after your skills test is a moment and feeling you will never forget. For me it was years of hard work having paid off.
4) How have your achievements and challenges made you a better aviator?
Being a CPL holder has made me appreciate the focus you need to safely operate an aircraft to an incredibly high standards. It allows you to understand the mindset between an amateur and professional. That, as well as my time within the industry has taught me that as professionals, safety and service is (and always be will) at the forefront of what we do.
5) How do you help people stay motivated?
Mostly helping them take a step back when the going gets tough. This allows them a break from training but most importantly provides them the opportunity to remember the goal and what you want to achieve at the end of your journey as a Student Pilot. I would advise Students Pilots to get out of the books sometimes and go flying! Flight training is hard work… that doesn't mean it can't be fun.
6) What makes you a Superprof in aviation?
I really emphasise teaching my students based on my own experience. That may be as a CPL holder, Engineering Management or from my Degree in Aerospace Engineering. I believe these experiences give me a unique approach to teaching ATPL and PPL Theory as it makes the subjects more engaging. I teach these subjects from a different perspective, one which my students tend to appreciate more.
