About Jeffrey
Jeffrey Allred has spent 32 years as a photojournalist. Some of his recent stories of note include documenting LDS President Russell Nelson's two 2018 world tours, a 2018 photo essay on College basketball player of the year Jimmer Fredette while playing in China, a 2016 multimedia project of a kidney transplant on a 26 year old, a 2013 year-long project on a 4-year-old girl battling cancer, the Haiti earthquake in January 2010, Hurricanes Andrew, Katrina, and Rita, and the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002. Allred has been awarded Photographer of the Year 15 times by the Society of Professional Journalists, the Associated Press, and the Utah News Photographers Association. Allred also won National Photo of the Year by the Associated Press Managing Editors for a photograph of troops deploying to Iraq.
Allred has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Utah State University and teaches photojournalism at Brigham Young University.
