About Vishal

Hi, I'm Vishal! I am an active competitive chess player participating in classical FIDE rated tournaments. Having spent years refining my own calculation depth, opening repertoire, and positional understanding, I know exactly what roadblocks ambitious young players face when trying to break through rating plateaus because I went through that too.

I genuinely enjoy helping students build disciplined thinking habits, board vision, and the confidence to compete at higher levels. My goal as a coach is to make strategic thinking clear, structured, and enjoyable for every student.

Hi! I'm Vishal Taneja, an active over-the-board tournament player with a 1631 Classical FIDE Rating and a 2190 peak on Chess.com.
I specialize in coaching beginner and intermediate students who want to build real board confidence, improve calculation depth, board vision and prepare for rated tournaments.
My lessons focus on practical, actionable skills rather than dry and boring theory:
Tactical Vision: Spotting pins, forks, tunnel vision and double attacks in seconds.
Opening Prep: Building a practical repertoire tailored to your style.
Middlegame understanding: Prophylaxis, pawn structure, punishing weaknesses and gaining initiative.
Endgame Mastery: Key pawn and piece endgames every tournament player needs.
OTB Prep: Time management, overcoming tournament nerves, tournament board vision and game analysis.
