I enjoy preparing speakers for their important presentations. I have found it especially motivating to help people make the main ideas of business or technical subjects stand out clearly. I've also helped people limit stress from public speaking!

In the business context, I have assisted sales and marketing teams, technical staff, and managers.

In the academic field, I have supported researchers speaking at conferences, and university students delivering class assignments and job pitches.

I have lived in UK, France and Canada and guided presenters from every continent to succeed in their talks.

About the class

If you have already prepared your presentation and slide deck, I would be happy to give you feedback on the impact of your talk and give pratical suggestions on how the presentation could be improved.

Alternatively, If you have not yet prepared your presentation, in three sessions you will be able to take an idea and build it up into a presentation that engages your audience and clearly brings your message across.

You will be able to understand your strengths and build confidence and connection with your audience. We'll work together step by step using convenient checklists and templates.

Session 1. You define the context of your presentation and create a solid structure for your talk.
Session 2. We check your slide deck together, refining the flow of content and the balance between images and words. You add ways to capture and maintain your audience’s attention.
Session 3. You run through the whole presentation and receive feedback on its impact and your delivery style.

As you practice your presentation between each session, you will develop your own communication style and find your own words to express your key messages.

Cadence has a good understanding of the requirmements of the public speaking context. She needs to make sure that the content is sufficiently selective to allow her to establish a good connection with the audience and emphasize the points that will be most relevant to them. With further practice she will be an excellent public speaker.

Oleg has done some great work preparing his slide deck. He has put together a persuasive and coherent structure. Now, by removing some of the text and adding icons and visual charts he will make it easier for the audience to grasp ideas quickly and listen closely while he is speaking.

1) When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
I have always enjoyed helping people communicate in situations which matter the most to them. I think the coaching really began when some of my son’s school friends were making an application to university. They were very motivated to progress in their education and had selected courses that inspired them. I knew they had the ability to succeed, and I wanted to give them every chance of convincing the selection committees that they would be great assets to the programmes they were applying for. We were very happy when all of the applications were accepted and the next phase of their careers could begin!
2) What makes you passionate about your subject?
Realizing that everyone has the potential to succeed and that all the ingredients of the next step are close at hand. Helping people focus on their true objectives and select persuasive evidence with impactful visuals and examples gives a lot of satisfaction. When people are able to present what they really believe in with confidence it is a motivating feeling for everyone involved.
3) What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
I enjoy taking the time to understand the context that a participant is operating in, and what they would like to achieve. That helps to guide them in the right direction, but all the materials and content for their presentation come from the participant so they have an authentic connection with what they are creating.
4) Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.
In high school I had a very helpful art teacher who listened to what I wanted to communicate and encouraged me to find my own ways to express those ideas. By constantly supporting me he gave me the confidence in my own ability to find solutions that would meet the requirements of the situation. A big thank you to him!

Believing that what you wish to create or communicate has its place in the world and will bring benefit to others.
