About James

I have been conducting revision classes for 6 months at school with students saying they found the sessions engaging and useful. I have also hosted a Japanese exchange and enjoyed travelling to Japan (both for 2 weeks) where I experienced the culture and practised my language skills. I intend to spend a year abroad in Japan at Waseda university.

About the class

GCSE level tutoring aimed at improving grammar, vocabulary and kanji recognition. Both reading, reading and speaking will be practiced and thinking in Japanese will be encouraged :) Any abilities welcome as I think languages are a skill that everyone should have!

I have been at school with James for 6 years and he is a very patient and understanding person. He has comprehensive knowledge of many subjects having taken the IB diploma. In particular, he is strongly passionate about Economics and has a curiosity and appreciation of both English Literature and Mathematics. James is well-versed in revision and time-management strategies and has given me helpful advice more times than I can count. When we study together, he makes the process much more interactive and enjoyable and it never feels tedious. I am very grateful for his help as he always goes out of his own way to make sure that he can understanding topics I am struggling with in order to help explain concepts to me. If you are looking to study with someone rather than study under someone, I believe James will be the right person for you.
