About Robert
Hello, Spanish language adventurer! My name is Robert López, and today I'll be your tutor! Let me tell you a little about myself, shall I? I was born in Los Angeles, but for family reasons, I moved to Mexico when I was four years old, spending most of my childhood and adolescence there. I became so passionate about Spanish and its doctrine that I decided to continue my studies in this field. Currently, my focus is on the linguistic aspect of Spanish, but I also invite you to explore the cultural and social aspects of this beautiful language. A fun fact is that watching movies with me is tedious because if a non-native character speaks Spanish, I'm sure I'll rewind the scene or even change the audio just to listen to it a couple more times before continuing. Whether it's to help and review homework and tests or simply to add to your list of skills, I'm very happy about your decision to learn Spanish, and I look forward to joining you on your journey. I've had the opportunity to teach Spanish to many students since I was in high school. Since Spanish is my first language, it wasn't that difficult to pass the advanced Spanish exam, as well as my professional classes at the university. My methodology is based on two different methods that I've been personally testing for a couple of years now. The first is the review and clarification of class materials, an alternative to tutoring, which focuses on verbs, adjectives, tenses, etc. The second, although a bit more abstract and tedious, has proven to be more effective and faster when it comes to learning this language. This method isn't complicated in terms of content, but it does require discipline and a daily routine that the student can carry out on their own. It consists of allowing the student to fully immerse themselves in Spanish and apply it through constant reading, writing, and speaking.
