My work at a transfer high school in Queens, to teaching middle/high school English and creative writing, to the work I have loved so much over the past couple of years -- being a teaching artist (creative writing and visual arts) and muralist in schools across The Bronx and Queens. I am also currently working toward my certification in K-12 art education at Brooklyn College!

I am consistently working on being an active support system for the people I work with as they develop their personal sense of agency with written language and visual language. I set up a space where we use journals to generate work, collectively shape feedback to be constructive, and experiment with projects that resist being solitary. I help students to develop “windows” – ongoing practices which allow them to look inward and value their findings, and also look out at worlds that might be unsurprising, unfamiliar, and hopeful.
