I am a wannabe singer actually. I've learned Carnatic music for 7 years and I had to take a break. Right now I'm teaching myself. We don't learn things just from one person. I taught myself by listening to many songs, my friends who are musicians and YouTube.

Obviously we start our lessons from the basic sapthaswarangal. Then we'll move on to varishakal, alankaram, geetham, varnam, keerthanam. Well this ain't gonna happen overnight. It takes years and years. I was actually a bad student but now I regret it. If you want to be a musician one day and not practicing at all, you will regret it.
