About Jason
I'm a media historian and researcher whose work examines how audiences are persuaded, misled, and moved by film, television, and online content. My academic writing has been published by Brill and Intellect, and I've presented at conferences across Europe and the US, including work commissioned by EU DisinfoLab. I hold a PhD in Film & Television Studies from the University of Warwick and an MA from Columbia University, with teaching experience at both institutions covering essay writing, media criticism, and American cinema. My approach is Socratic rather than corrective: I work from your own draft or argument, asking questions that surface the structural or analytical gaps, then teach the technique needed to fix them, so the skill transfers to your next essay rather than just this one.
