About Lisa
I am Lisa Rasmussen, an MFA artist, educator, creative mentor, and Co-Founding Director of non-profit Art is Moving and founder of the Harmonia Institute. For more than 30 years, I have helped people reconnect with creativity through fine arts education, community art experiences, healing-centered workshops, art retreats, and personal artistic development.
My background includes painting, mixed media, visual storytelling, arts advocacy, and creative wellness practices. I believe creativity is a powerful force for confidence, self-discovery, emotional expression, and transformation.
I love helping students of all ages discover their artistic voice in a warm, supportive, and inspiring environment where curiosity, imagination, and growth are encouraged.

With over 30 years of experience as an MFA artist, educator, and creative mentor, I guide students in drawing, painting, mixed media, composition, color, artistic voice, and personal expression.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and level — from beginners discovering creativity to advanced artists refining portfolios and professional practice. I believe art is not only about technique, but about learning to see, feel, express, and trust your unique creative voice.
My teaching style is encouraging, intuitive, and deeply personalized, helping students grow artistically while building confidence, focus, and joy through the creative process.
