I am a violin teacher with 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. I have taught over 200 students from young beginners to advanced examination candidates. My violin lessons follow a structured progression that develops physical technique, musical understanding, and performance confidence together in every session. Every lesson starts with posture checks, bow hold review, and a warm-up covering scales and bowing exercises to prepare body and mind. Bow control and tone production receive strong focus from the earliest stages as they most directly impact sound quality and musical expression. Intonation is developed through systematic scale work, careful listening, and tuning app feedback alongside consistent teacher guidance. Exam students follow required syllabi closely with regular mock assessments and detailed feedback on all components. Advanced students work on vibrato development, shifting, double stopping, and expressive interpretive depth. I use backing tracks throughout to develop rhythm awareness and genuine ensemble sensitivity. Sight-reading coaching and ensemble skills are provided for students joining school orchestras or community ensembles. Clear specific feedback after every run-through gives students actionable improvement goals to work towards. My commitment is to help every student develop a confident technique and a lasting genuine love of the violin.
