About Quinn
My passion for violin began through fascination with orchestral performance, emotional storytelling, and musical artistry. This interest inspired me to complete a PhD in Classical String Performance, where I explored advanced technique, interpretation, and performance methods in greater depth. During the past 13 years, I have guided students from different musical backgrounds through lessons that feel supportive, motivating, and creatively inspiring.
I believe every student deserves lessons that match their learning style, pace, and musical interests. My teaching philosophy focuses on patience, healthy technique, and artistic growth because every learner develops differently. Some students improve through technical repetition and structured exercises, while others gain confidence through interpretation and musical exploration. I carefully adapt lessons to create an environment where learners feel encouraged throughout their musical journey.
Outside teaching, I continue exploring violin repertoire, ensemble performance, and music history to keep my lessons engaging and fresh. Staying connected to music helps me bring artistic inspiration and practical performance ideas into lessons. I want students to improve not only technically but also emotionally through stronger confidence and musical connection. Helping learners discover their own expression through violin remains one of the most meaningful parts of my teaching experience.

My violin lessons focus on helping students build strong technical foundations through structured guidance and encouraging practice. I teach bow control, finger placement, intonation, rhythm development, vibrato, tone production, and musical interpretation using methods that make learning feel approachable and rewarding. Lessons are designed to help students understand both technique and expression instead of relying only on repetition. I create a calm and supportive atmosphere where learners feel comfortable improving steadily through guided learning.
Every lesson is personalized according to the student’s experience level and musical goals. Beginners receive patient support with posture, note reading, hand coordination, and open-string exercises, while advanced learners strengthen phrasing, technical precision, and performance preparation. I include scales, listening activities, duet work, and interpretation practice that help students improve naturally over time. Students preparing for auditions or performances receive additional support with stage confidence and structured preparation methods.
I believe violin becomes more meaningful when students feel emotionally connected to music and comfortable expressing themselves creatively. My lessons aim to replace frustration with enjoyment and steady progress through patient explanation and encouragement. Many students gradually become more expressive, disciplined, and confident as their understanding improves steadily. My goal is to help learners build strong violin foundations while developing creativity and confidence that support lifelong musical growth.
