About Zoe
Hello, I'm Zoe! I am one of the most energetic and passionate violin teachers you will ever find, and after 4 years of teaching this incredible instrument I bring that same excitement and enthusiasm to absolutely every single lesson. I love the violin deeply — its beauty, its expressiveness, its versatility — and I teach it in a way that connects the rich classical tradition of the instrument to the modern, exciting, and diverse musical world my students actually live in every day.
My lessons cover the full classical foundation — bow hold, posture, intonation, shifting, vibrato, and all the essential bowing techniques — because solid technique is non-negotiable and I build it carefully and progressively in every student from day one. But alongside that classical core, I bring in modern elements that make violin feel fresh, exciting, and completely relevant — electric violin technique, contemporary and pop violin arrangements, learning current chart songs, looping and layering for solo performance, and fiddle and folk styles that connect students to a vibrant and joyful side of the instrument. I place a strong emphasis on stage performance energy and modern stage presence, training students to perform with genuine excitement, confidence, and the kind of commanding energy that makes audiences sit up and pay attention. Over 4 years I have helped students audition for school and youth orchestras, perform solos at school events and community concerts, and develop a genuine love for the violin that goes far beyond the practice room. I was recognized as a Rising Star String Educator by the Miami Music Teachers Association in 2024. My violin lessons are high energy, modern, and completely personalized to every student. I cover proper instrument hold and setup, correct bow hold, posture and body alignment, left hand position and thumb placement, basic intonation and pitch accuracy, open string bowing exercises, first position scales and arpeggios, shifting into higher positions, vibrato development — arm and wrist vibrato, spiccato, detaché, martelé and advancing bowing techniques, music reading in treble clef for strings, rhythm reading for string players, classical violin repertoire including Suzuki method, Kayser and Wohlfahrt etudes, solos and concertos by Vivaldi, Handel, Seitz and Accolay, orchestra and ensemble preparation, orchestral excerpts and audition repertoire, viola fundamentals and alto clef reading, cello foundational posture and bow technique, fiddle and folk styles including Irish fiddle, bluegrass, American old-time and country fiddle, electric violin technique and modern performance, contemporary and pop violin arrangements, learning current chart songs on violin, looping and layering violin sounds for solo performance, stage performance coaching and live solo performance energy, performance nerves management, modern stage presence and performance confidence, and audition preparation for school orchestras, All-State programs and college music programs.
