In private violin classes I usually incorporate methodologies of traditional violin teaching with techniques from Suzuki Violin's school. We work with learning theory and / or music theory to have a more official approach to music and instrument reading. We can include classical, popular, or student-preferred repertoire to create goals related to their musical preference. With children, I usually incorporate a Christmas repertoire as long as it is consistent with the objectives of each student.
