About Helene

I am a senior at the University of Texas at Dallas studying Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Child Development. I have experience working with children of different ages through literacy tutoring and nannying. In my current role as a Literacy Teaching Assistant at The Reading Ranch, I help students strengthen their reading, spelling, writing, and comprehension skills. These experiences have taught me to be patient, adaptable, and attentive to each child’s individual needs. I enjoy helping students build confidence, work through challenges, and feel more comfortable with their schoolwork in a supportive environment.

My lessons are personalized to each student’s needs, goals, and learning style. I can help with homework, review classroom material, practice reading and writing skills, and explain concepts students find challenging. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities. I focus on supporting what students are already learning in school rather than following a separate curriculum, so each lesson is relevant to their current assignments and areas where they need extra help.
