About Rayna
I am a Bachelor of Science student at the University of Melbourne with a strong interest in English, literature and academic writing. As a bilingual English and Chinese speaker, I understand the challenges students may experience when developing their language and writing skills.
I am patient, organized and committed to preparing lessons that match each student’s individual needs. I create a respectful and encouraging learning environment where students can ask questions comfortably, practice without fear of making mistakes and receive constructive feedback. My lessons are personalised according to each student’s level, learning style and academic goals. I begin by identifying the areas they would like to improve, then create clear activities focusing on English, literature analysis, grammar, vocabulary and essay writing.
A typical lesson may include reviewing a text, discussing its themes and literary techniques, planning an essay and improving a paragraph together. I guide students through introductions, topic sentences, evidence, analysis and conclusions using simple, step-by-step explanations. Students can also bring schoolwork, assignments or practice essays for feedback.
As a bilingual English and Chinese speaker, I can explain challenging ideas in either language when necessary. My lessons are supportive, patient and suitable for primary and secondary students, English-language learners and beginners who want to become more confident readers and writers.
