About Katie
Having already completed a year as a British Council Language Assistant near Milan, I know that teaching English as a foreign language is a passion of mine that I wish to pursue. My time at the school taught me that learning English in Italy is a valued and important skill, and I have been able to put my own experience of learning languages to excellent use when it came to aiding the students with their own language-learning journeys. Not only was I teaching them a new language, they were teaching me one, and it is to them that I owe my Italian linguistic competency today.

I have worked as an English foreign language teacher in Italy, and I'm also about to graduate with a BA in Italian and Spanish, thus I'm able to offer lessons to anyone who wishes to learn Italian, or to those who are studying for GCSE, A-Level or undergraduate qualifications.
Typically, my lessons last an hour and can be adapted to suit each individual's level and learning outcomes. For me, interacting with the language and using it in different ways has been the best way to improve my language skills. This includes a range of activities from casual conversation, discussing diverse topics relating to the target culture, to more 'academic' ways of learning to help prepare for any exams and to perfect the grammar, such as grammar exercises and reading comprehensions.
My experience teaching was with students aged 5-11, but I have also carried out private conversation classes for adults and teenagers as well.
