About Mark
Having taught in several schools in different environments and spending my time observing and guiding prospective teachers I have a strong understanding of what makes effective teaching. I have spent over 20 years as an examiner and provided training to other teachers in both GCSE and A Level teaching. I am currently employed as both university lecturer for teacher training and a secondary school teacher. My role as university lecturer means I am responsible for assessing and training prospective history teachers. For 23 years I was Head of Department for History, Psychology and Classics, and to ensure my teaching remains up to date I still teach Years 7-13. I have also worked as a GCSE and A level examiner in each subject for over 20 years and published numerous resources for each subject. I work as an examiner for History, Psychology and Classics at both GCSE and A level, and assess Masters level PGCE assignments.

Perfect! Organised, approachable and efficient. Excellent relationship with students, flexible and helpful.
Perfect! Mark has been an excellent tutor over the last year. He has informed,guided and inspired confidence in our grandson. He provided a depth of information and reinforcement of knowledge. His methods of teaching the art of revision and essay writing has made a marked improvement in our grandsons achievements. Mark also developed a good rapport with our grandson,resulting in good interaction and enjoyment of the sessions by our grandson. We would highly recommend Mark.
