About Luke
I am a very experienced teacher who has taught both at UK state schools and at top international schools in the Middle East. I have travelled extensively and enjoy speaking Spanish thanks to the times I have particularly spent in Peru. I also love sports such as football. Besides Sociology, I have taught English and Media Studies. Both these subjects have dovetailed really effectively with Sociology. English in particular means I am perhaps somewhat uniquely able to support literacy as well as the sociology subject content. I have tutored 1-1 before and my most recent student attained an A grade even though she was only learning online (besides my sessions). As you can see, I am new to this platform and I am working full time, so I will be somewhat selective with who and when I tutor.

I passionately believe that Sociology is one of the most valuable subjects because of its applicability to the contemporary world. I hope that I bring this passion to my teaching and am able to enthuse my students to really 'live' the subject thanks to the examples I apply and the debate I engender. My lessons will be tailored to your needs. Whether you are going for an A* or a C, I can adapt as required. The lessons will include lots of recall, model answers, quizzes, interesting sources and clear explanations of theory, concepts and evidence.
