About Oscar
Hey! I'm a 2020 honours physics graduate, I loved my degree and have a great time teaching others the fundamentals behind the biggest problems in science.
Since graduating I have tutored in maths and science, but also taught SCUBA diving in QLD and alpine skiing in NZ - for all ages from 4 to 70. I understand not all students are passionate about the subject matter, but my goal is to show there are really interesting, real life applications of a lot of these concepts. My recent professional experience at a large consulting firm also means I can advise on career goals and to work towards goals in STEM and school overall.

I have a friendly and approachable teaching style, encouraging students to come to answers themselves, while supporting their methodology. Mistakes are an important part of the learning process, on the path to the correct answer.
Of course it is important to contextualise a given problem, and be able to "sanity check" the result. This builds self confidence and allows for more self-directed learning as needed for future study and work.
I am open to flexible lesson lengths, generally between 45-90 minutes as this is ideal for maintaining focus and achieving results. Main focus is on any level of high school maths - algebra, trigonometry and calculus.
