• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I am a music educator by profession and I teach Acoustic Guitar playing to my students.
  From my young days I was keenly interested in music, but never thought of taking it up as a career option. I got introduced to guitar playing only in graduation, and I must say I got really fond of it henceforth. I picked up basic chords to support my singing and over a period of time, started playing advanced guitar songs purely because of my passion for music. But down the line I realized that I want to make this as my profession too. So, I took up Trinity Grade exams for guitar playing as they are really popular and successfully cleared them. Since I started my guitar journey fairly late, I get really motivated to want to help young kids learn guitar early in their lives. That's my goal.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  As i said, I always wish I could have picked up guitar playing early in my life. So the thought motivates me to help young kids learn guitar as early as they can. Because you can spend a lifetime mastering this instrument.

• How does your work help society?

  I think music in general influences everyone in a positive way. It's such a great thing to bring the gift of music in someone's life. So, basically what I am trying to say is that I am sort of helping the world become more musical.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  Ah... If I had to pick a role model for my kinda role, it would definitely be Justin Sandercoe from Justinguitar. I think he is honest, keeps things simple and he does believe in teaching guitar. I love how he has been giving such amazing free guitar lessons over the period of time!

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  I am a Singer, Songwriter, and I love to cook when I am free.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  So, I was an IT professional a few years back and I quit all that desk job comfort over my guitar. I want to personally become an expert in guitar playing and also along the way help people learn it. That's my way of life now.
