About Masroor
I’m a Mechanical Engineering student at Queen Mary University of London with a strong background in maths, having achieved a Grade 9 at GCSE and continued the subject through A-level, achieving a grade A. I’ve also mentored primary school students in KS2 maths as well as helping students prepare for the 11+ examination, which developed my ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently. Having recently been through GCSEs and A-levels myself, I understand the challenges students face and aim to make maths feel less intimidating, more understandable and, most importantly, achievable.

My lessons are focused on making maths genuinely understandable rather than just memorising methods. I’ll first identify which areas a student finds difficult, then break them down into simple, manageable steps before working through examples together. Once they’re confident, we’ll move onto exam-style questions and focus on applying the method independently. I adapt my explanations to each student and encourage questions throughout, so they can build both their mathematical ability and their confidence.
Lesson breakdown*:
10-15 minutes: Any doubts with homework questions
20-30 minutes: Learning a new concept
15-20 minutes: Consolidating with exam style questions
