Before joining my class, there will be a mandatory goal setting session, where students have to set a target grade they want to meet after going through all the lesson with me. This will be the grade that I will help them achieve.
I adopt a 3-step approach in teaching. That is, Revise-Practice-Test.
For revision, I will guide the students through notes-writing for each topic. They will learn what are the key points to understand and to clarify any questions they have.
For Practice, I will have the students work through a personally crafted practice paper, which aims to sieve out misunderstanding and weaknesses in the particular topic. Afterwards, it will be explained and clarified.
For Test, I will have the student sit through a test paper that make use of whatever they learnt. It will be reviewed and we go back to step 1 - Revise.
