About Olivia
I am a 21 year old medical student with a background in palliative and dementia care, sexual health education and several years of tutoring experience. I offer completely personalised lessons for a variety of ages and abilities!
I have been tutoring formally and informally since I was at college and have continued doing so at university as I love watching my students grow in ability and confidence. I have a real passion and enjoyment for the subjects I teach and aim to impart this to my students, as I believe it is the greatest motivator for success.
One way I achieve this is by never restricting my students’ knowledge - if there is a topic which particularly interests them, or an area they would like to look at in more detail, I am always happy to go beyond the syllabus to ensure the lessons are engaging and enjoyable. I find, especially with the sciences, that additional information can often provide context which makes difficult topics easier to grasp.

I believe in a personalised approach to teaching and so always have an introductory session with my students (and their parent/s if desired) to talk about their strengths, weaknesses and aims, which enables me to better plan my lessons. This is also where we can discuss relevant exam board specifications or curriculums to ensure I cover all core content required for your individual circumstances.
Beyond this, I am flexible in how I run my sessions and will work around the information provided in our introductory meeting. Some students may want to work through a course systematically and others may prefer to base lessons around what they are working on at school or areas they are particularly struggling with.
I have never met a student who wasn't good at a subject, only students who haven't had good teaching.
