About Matthew
I've worked with many people of different ages and different backgrounds. I've had tutoring experience in the past with nonprofit organizations where I helped elementary-age kids, and I also do peer review feedback at my university's writing hub. I am very patient with everyone I work with because I believe that learning to develop one's own style takes time, personal growth, and maturity in the English language.

I'll tutor students of any age; writing is for everyone!
I intend to get students excited about writing by developing prompts that are relevant and interesting to them. For an argumentative paper, I'd want them to choose a topic they've recently debated about with their friends or family. For a creative writing assignment, I'll get them started by developing a story out of an intense one-liner or a funny image. Along the way, we'll learn about prose and rhetorical skills, and develop unique writing styles.
Learning to enjoy writing is important because it makes all the writing assignments we have to complete for school bearable. I want to prove to my students that writing CAN be a fun experience when you let loose, speak your mind, and allow the words to flow from your fingers on the keyboard.
