I believe every child can learn and succeed when they are taught in a way that suits their individual needs, strengths and learning style. My approach is supportive, engaging and student-centred, with a strong focus on building confidence alongside academic skills.
I use a combination of structured teaching, hands-on activities, questioning, discussion, visual resources, games and real-life examples to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. I adapt my lessons according to each student's level and pace, identify areas where they need support, and gradually build their skills and independence. I also strongly believe in a growth mindset, encouraging students to see mistakes as opportunities to learn and improve.
A typical lesson is 45–60 minutes, depending on the student's age, level and learning needs. For younger children, I include a variety of short, interactive activities to maintain engagement, while older students may benefit from more focused practice, problem-solving and guided learning.
I am a fully registered New Zealand primary teacher with extensive teaching experience in New Zealand and overseas. I hold a Master of Education (ECE) from New Zealand Tertiary College and a Bachelor of Education from Delhi University. I have taught English and Mathematics across primary year levels and currently teach Year 2 in an Auckland primary school. I have also undertaken professional development in Structured Literacy, Structured Mathematics, Prime Math, inquiry-based learning and Better Start Literacy Approach (BSLA).
My lessons are suitable for primary-aged students, particularly Years 1–6, who need support, extension or extra confidence in English, reading, writing, spelling, literacy and Mathematics. I am happy to work with students who need help strengthening their foundational skills as well as those who would benefit from additional challenge.
My goal is not simply to help students complete their work, but to help them understand what they are learning, become confident learners and develop skills they can use independently.
