About Emily

I'm in my final year of studying English Literature at the University of Leeds and want to grow my base of work experience surrounding teaching and supporting students.
I have previously assisted in lessons in two primary schools and my own high school and would love to take the lessons i have learnt from University and mould them into my own lessons for the growth and development of others.
At A-level i achieved grades of ABBac in Geography, English Literature, Business studies, Extended project and Photography, and finished my second year of University with a 2:1. From this, I have experienced a vast number of exams and coursework assessments and how each can and should be approached and prepared for differently to maximise the ultimate outcome. My passion is English Literature and has been since I started my A-levels after enjoying the subject at GCSE where it was my highest grade of an A*.

About the class

I intend to evaluate the task in hand regarding specific intentions from their time with me as a whole and tackle each lesson individually and accordingly.
My classes will be based on the correct approach to have, in my experience, to each piece of writing presented to an individual, and how to transfer a good foundation of knowledge into a coherent exam answer.
Confidence was one of my main issues when it came to exams, so I intend to ensure emotional support is offered just as much as academic as I truly believe lack of belief can hold a student back. I'm so excited to transfer the gratefulness I have from those who have taught me into the drive to be as inspiring as they were when tutoring someone else.
