About Hannah
Hi everyone! My name is Hannah, I am 20 and a third year English Literature student at Durham University. I am a hard-working, bubbly and friendly tutor, with three years experience as a tutor.
I began tutoring Latin whilst still at school, venturing into English Literature. I remember how tough GCSEs were, and my hard work is a true testament that anything is possible if you try! I was reaching a 7 in Language and Literature in year 10, and leaving year 11, I achieved two 9s. In addition to excelling in the field of the arts, I was predicted 6s and 7s in Maths and separate sciences, and left school with 8s in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, after a lot of hard work.
I want to assure students that we all have to start somewhere. School IS tough, there's no denying that, but I hope with my guidance I can make a difference to the life of a younger pupil. Education shouldn't be a chore, my aim as a tutor therefore is to make learning fun and to assure my students that they will get there, and we will work together to solve any problems!

I am a firm believer of encouraging young children with exciting educational tools, such as videos and fun quizzes to provide an amusing, yet educational way of educating young people. I specialise particularly in Classics, Latin, English Literature, Psychology and English Language. Typically, my lessons range between 50mins-1hr, but this can be altered according to parental requirement. I have 11 A*s at GCSE under my belt, achieving the highest in my year for Literature (157/160). I continued my academic career, achieving 3 A*s at A-Level. I am able to teach KS3, GCSE and A-Level. Currently I am going into my third year at Durham University, holding the position of the President of the English society.
