About Harry
My experience with maths and physics is extensive; I achieved A grades in GCSE maths and physics, and A-Levels in maths, further maths and physics (A, C, B respectively).
Since coming to university, I have developed my knowledge and skills further, studying a wide variety of topics (including materials engineering, computer science, thermodynamics, and flight control systems). This experience has solidified my existing knowledge, ensuring that I have a high level of understanding of the concepts introduced at GCSE and A-Level.
While in my final year at school, I served as a maths mentor. This involved running lunchtime and after school support sessions for students in years 7-13, giving me a rich background in planning and delivering lessons for all ages and abilities. I have somewhat continued this at university, as I am currently a STEM champion; I work closely with the university outreach team to deliver open day activities and workshops in science, technology, engineering and maths to students in Sheffield (from primary school to sixth form/college).
I also have five years of experience supporting young people on the National Citizen Service program. In my time as an NCS Team Leader, I have supported over 100 young people to challenge and develop themselves during the program.

I am a hard working and enthusiastic student that would love to pass on my passion for maths and physics.
When I was at school, I struggled in these lessons (particularly maths). The extra support and perseverance shown by my teachers allowed me to achieve more than I ever expected, and this influences my teaching philosophy to this day. My lessons are geared towards students who are struggling to engage with their course as a whole and require additional support, as well as those who would like to focus on specific subject areas.
I have my own car, so I am able to travel around Sheffield to deliver lessons at your home or a convenient location. I also offer lessons via Skype.
I hold an International Child Protection Certificate (dated January 2019).
