• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  My subject is Computer Science, with a particular focus on Programming, Python, Java, C, C++, SQL, and problem-solving.
  
  My interest in programming started during my B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. What fascinated me was that programming is not simply about writing code—it is about solving real-world problems using logic and creativity.
  
  As I progressed through my studies and later my professional career, I discovered that the same problem can often be solved in many different ways. Finding efficient and elegant solutions became something I genuinely enjoyed. That curiosity eventually evolved into a career in software engineering.
  
  Today, as a Technical Lead with over 10 years of industry experience, I work on enterprise software systems, cloud platforms, databases, and data engineering solutions. Teaching allows me to share not only academic knowledge but also practical insights from the software industry.

• What or who is the motivation behind your choosing to teach & why?

  My teaching journey began through my involvement with IEEE and student communities. As an active volunteer, I had opportunities to interact with students from colleges across Kerala and conduct sessions on technology, career development, and programming.
  
  However, the biggest motivation comes from my own journey.
  
  There were many stages in my academic and professional life where I felt stuck. At those moments, I was fortunate to have mentors who guided me, encouraged me, and helped me move forward. Looking back, I realize that many of my achievements would not have been possible without their support.
  
  Teaching is my way of continuing that cycle. If someone took the time to help me when I needed guidance, I believe I should do the same for others. Helping students overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their goals is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

• How does your work help society?

  Technology is now a part of almost every industry and every aspect of daily life. Software engineers help build systems that people depend on every day.
  
  As a Technical Lead, I contribute by designing and delivering software solutions for real-world business problems. As a teacher and mentor, I contribute by helping students develop problem-solving abilities, technical skills, and confidence.
  
  Education creates a multiplier effect. When a student gains knowledge and confidence, they carry those skills into their future studies, careers, and communities. By helping students build strong foundations in Computer Science and Programming, I hope to contribute in a small way to the next generation of engineers, innovators, and technology professionals.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  Rather than a single role model, I draw inspiration from the mentors who have influenced my journey.
  
  Throughout my academic life, volunteer activities, and professional career, I have met teachers, senior engineers, and mentors who were always willing to share their knowledge and help others grow. What impressed me most was not only their technical expertise but also their willingness to invest time in guiding people.
  
  Their example taught me that success is not only about personal achievement. It is also about helping others succeed. That philosophy continues to influence how I approach mentoring and teaching today.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside of teaching and software engineering, I enjoy learning about emerging technologies, cloud computing, software architecture, data engineering, and artificial intelligence.
  
  I also enjoy writing technical content, mentoring aspiring engineers, and participating in technology communities. Continuous learning has always been an important part of my life, and I enjoy exploring new tools, frameworks, and ideas.
  
  Apart from technology, I enjoy travelling, meeting new people, and spending time with family and friends.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  One experience that stands out involved a student who was struggling with Java programming in school. The student had failed multiple examinations and had developed the belief that programming was simply not for them.
  
  Instead of focusing immediately on syntax and memorization, we started with the fundamentals of logic and problem-solving. We spent time understanding how programs think, how to break problems into smaller steps, and how to approach coding systematically.
  
  Gradually, the student's confidence improved. Concepts that once seemed difficult started making sense, and programming became less intimidating. Eventually, the student passed the subject with respectable marks and, more importantly, gained confidence in their own abilities.
  
  Experiences like this remind me why I enjoy teaching. Very often, students do not lack ability—they simply need the right guidance, encouragement, and learning approach. Watching that transformation is one of the most rewarding parts of being a teacher.
