About Brianna
Psychology combines science, social understanding, biology, and human behavior. It involves studying the brain and nervous system, learning research methods and statistics, understanding social and cultural influences, and examining how thoughts, beliefs, schemas, and cognitive biases shape behavior and decision making. My academic and internship training reflects this full scope. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, where I developed a strong foundation in: 1. Brain–behavior relationships 2. Cognitive processes such as perception, memory, and learning 3. Psychological research methods and scientific reasoning 4. Social psychology, development, and personality theory 5. Abnormal psychology and diagnostic frameworks I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling (MHC), which deepens my understanding of: 1. How people think, interpret experiences, and form belief systems (schemas) 2. Cognitive biases and how they influence behavior and emotions 3. Emotional regulation, coping strategies, and stress responses 4. Ethical practice, professionalism, and client-centered communication 5. Applying psychological theory to real-world situations This combination allows me to teach psychology not just as textbook content, but as a living, applied discipline that explains why people think, feel, and behave the way they do.
