Smruti is a wonderful young violinist with a great ear, great ambition, and excellent focus. We had a good time working on two excerpts for a chamber orchestra audition. I was impressed at Smruti's stamina and ability to turn around feedback and work for an extensive time on improving her excerpts. Bravo, Smruti! Really good job!

It was wonderful working on violin with Larry. I was impressed by Larry's focus, ability to turn around feedback, ambition, and enthusiasm! We covered the violin hold, the bow hold, playing in the middle of the bow, string levels, upbow and downbow, and we learned to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star! Excellent work, Larry!

Michelle is an experienced beginner violinist and we worked on how to develop a technique that is friendly to the body. Michelle is ambitious, driven, very attentive, and just wonderful to work with! I thoroughly enjoyed my lesson with Michelle. Bravo, Michelle!

Kaitlyn: you are wonderful musician who plays with a lot of feeling, intuition, and charisma. Your audience will appreciate the ways you bring them to you, the ways you express slow and peaceful rhythms, the ways you connect with yourself as you choose what you shall do next; the ways you use slides and vibrations to warm up and "humanize" your violin sound. Your playing was a wonderful enrichment for me today, and will be for those who will be blessed by your music.

We had a fantastic time this morning. Eve is a violinist with instrumental background in many areas and with a musical family. We worked on violin 2 orchestral parts of a Berlioz Piece (Hungarian March). Eve was great! Wonderfully patient and very perceptive, totally focused and with a nice bow sound and good left hand. We worked on passage work (clarity and speed work). It was a wonderful lesson! Thank you, Eve! You're making your community orchestra proud!

Sandra is a wonderful violinist already after lesson 1! We had such a wonderful time. I complimented her on her wonderful natural way of holding her instrument, her bow, and her focus and understanding and ability to turn around what I suggested -- everything went beautifully! We ended the lesson by playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star! I am proud of your accomplishments! Keep up the great work!

Shine is a wonderful violinist and we had a great time working on Gavotte from Suzuki Book 3. Shine has a wonderful intonation and we just worked on making the dynamic expression a bit more strong, embodying and "becoming" every dynamic more fully so that audiences are moved even more. We also worked on vibrato. Shine was really great on doing 2 and 3 and 4 motions per click, 8 clicks per bow, and two bows per finger. Next we'll take a look at etudes and more songs. Awesome job, Shine!

Lucas practices well and pays great attention to everything I suggest. I am especially impressed with the attitude that Lucas brings to violin playing. Lucas seems to understand that progress in violin playing is not always sweet and fun but can be a bit dry, boring, discipline-intensive, and simply tough because of how many things we have to watch out for. Lucas always gives everything a great effort! Way to go! I love watching the improvement in Lucas's playing.

Dev's daughter S. did a wonderful job again in our last lesson. We worked on orchestra music in order to bring S's playing up to the next level so that S. can be confident in leadership positions in the orchestra. Our goal is build and expand technique, which will build and expand S.'s overall musicianship. You're fantastic and it's a great joy working with you, S.!

Shawn worked on open strings, bow-hold, violin hold, elbow levels of E string vs. A string, and we worked on a song called Twinkle twinkle little star. Shawn has a natural way with the violin which I was impressed by. Shawn's ear is excellent and Shawn was able to play in tune in the first lesson (unusual!). Because of Shawn's concrete goal to perform with a band, I predict good development moving forwards. I enjoyed this lesson!

Excellent focus and excellent playing! Ferda is a great violinist and her vibrato on the violin is already at a good level; we were able to identify some exercises to raise her vibrato game! Ferda is patient, persistent, and very talented. Her sound is awesome. We've been working on "programming" her right arm because sometimes she forgets to use a gentle elevator movement when going from a higher to a lower string. Awesome job, Ferda!

Lukas is incredible and working really hard. I enjoy lessons with Lukas because Lukas pays attention to detail, is great taking instructions, and has a wonderful attitude. It's always wonderful teaching a student like that!

I had a great time working with Xiang's son. We worked on Mozart and it was a pleasure to see how much progress happened since the last time I heard them play. Way to go!

Bassam is great to work with! He is talented and a good communicator. I enjoyed working with Bassam on violin fundamentals. Bassam has a wonderful positive outlook. It was easy to work with Bassam because he is perceptive and pays attention to detail.

John was a wonderful student and practiced well. He was able to quickly put in action the tips I offered for improvement.

Dorothy is a wonderful person to work with: in the moment, open-minded, doesn't mind trying out new things, works extremely well with feedback, is kind, and is a really quick learner. ALSO: amazing violin sound!
