About Savith
I'm Savith, an undergraduate student at IISER Kolkata with a strong interest in physics, mathematics, programming, and understanding how things work at a fundamental level.
I don't claim to know everything. In fact, one of the biggest lessons science teaches is how much we don't know. What I do offer is curiosity, patience, and a genuine love for learning.
I teach because I know what it's like to be confused. Many of the concepts I understand today took me countless hours of questioning, struggling, making mistakes, and rebuilding my understanding from scratch. If I can save someone a part of that struggle, or help them discover the excitement of truly understanding something, that's rewarding to me.
My goal is not to make students dependent on me. My goal is to help them develop the ability to think for themselves. I want them to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and build confidence in their own reasoning.
Knowledge becomes more valuable when it is shared. Every scientist, teacher, mentor, author, and friend who helped me learn was passing forward something they received from someone else. Teaching is my way of contributing to that chain.
If you're looking for someone who will simply give answers, I may not be the best fit. But if you're looking for someone who will help you understand why those answers work, I'd be happy to help.

I'm not the kind of tutor who teaches you how to pass a test. I'm the kind who gets annoyed if you memorize something without understanding it.
If you ask me a question, there's a good chance I'll ask three questions back. Not because I'm avoiding the answer, but because I'm trying to figure out exactly where your understanding breaks.
I likes building concepts from the ground up. Instead of saying 'use this formula,' I'll often ask where the formula came from, what assumptions were made, and what would happen if those assumptions failed.
I'm especially good for students who keep asking 'why?' and are unsatisfied with 'because that's how it's done.'
Expect analogies, thought experiments, random connections between different subjects, and occasional detours that somehow circle back to the original topic.
I don't care if you're slow. I care if you're thinking. If you're willing to engage with ideas and make mistakes publicly, I'll happily spend an hour on a single concept until it clicks.
The downside is that if you're looking for a quick trick to solve 50 questions in 10 minutes, you'll probably get a lecture on why the trick works instead.
But if your goal is to genuinely understand physics, mathematics, or whatever topic I'm teaching, you'll leave with a much deeper grasp than when you started."
