About Caty
I am aware from experience the severe understaffing and lack of funding available at schools, meaning they are unable to provide the one-to-one experience often needed for the completion of GCSEs and A-Levels. My background, coming from a low-ranked state school yet attending one of the most prestigious universities in the country, has inspired me to help children who believe they cannot achieve more than what is expected of them. I wish to instil, through proficiency in English literature and language, a confidence often neglected by schools.

I take a relaxed approach to teaching, helping students to feel as if they are being guided by a more experienced peer as opposed to an overbearing authority figure but adapting my methods to each individual student as required. I wish to provide an alternative to the experience received in school, hoping to provide a certain level of one-to-one guidance on literacy and comprehension for ages 11-18. My knowledge comes from my experience of having recently completing my A-Levels, still being in higher education and volunteering with young people of a similar age in a less academic setting.
