I"m a speech langauge pathologist with a wide range of professional experience in schools and healthcare settings. I have had the pleasure to work in private and public schools, including Montessori, educational clinics and even in accent modification. I've had the honor to work with a wide variety of disciplines and love collaboration with others. I work with children from prek-adult. I am in the Charlotte, NC area. I have an MS in Communication Science from ECU, a MS in Educational Psychology from Capella and a BA in Anthropology from UNCC

As a speech-language pathologist, I do find that language can be both the obstacle and the key to improving learning difficulties in all areas. I used a strengths oriented and individualized approach to determine the best course of action and prioritize the skills to be addressed. My goal is to help a person know how they learn best, so they can feel empowered to address the skills that need improvement. I use a scaffolded approach, with activities intended for skills practice, recall and fluency; and gradually increase the complexity of tasks until we are working with the wholistic functional skill (think- letters- words-sentences- paragraph; or numbers, basic facts, computation-word problems). I love to work with school aged people in the evenings and on weekends. I also love to work on comprehension (which affects all subject areas).
