About Adriana
Hola!
My name is Adriana, I am a native Spanish speaker with Bachelor’s degree in Education for children. When I was at school I never thought I would speak English, until I met teachers who it showed me how useful and fun languages can be.
My firsthand experience of the problems students can have when learning new languages motivates me. After my first degree, I started my second university the degree in Teaching foreign languages so I could help people who are in the same situation I used to be in. This degree gave me the knowledge and experience to be able to adapt to my teaching to each student’s needs.
After working in schools in Madrid I moved to Australia for a year, I started teaching Spanish as a favor to a friend. It went so well that teaching Spanish in private lessons became my main work there.
After Australia, I moved to London and decided to be a professional Spanish teacher. I undertook the ELE course at the Instituto Cervantes in London (teaching Spanish to children). Additionally, I completed the GCSLTA qualification (teaching Spanish to adults).
At the same time, I was working as a part time Spanish Teacher in schools using Makaton Sign Language. This class was the epitome of learning while having fun. The young children were singing in Spanish and using the signs to support learning. After a few months as an assistant I oversaw classes myself. This as for babies and their parents, as well as 8 years old children.
I’m enthusiastic about teaching Spanish, willing to put in a lot of effort and above all, passion. I am resolute, empathetic, and dynamic, always helping to create a good atmosphere. I try to make teaching creative to capture student’s attention and get them truly involved and committed to learning.
