About Dimitra
In terms of my experience, before coming to Edinburgh I have been working as a German and Greek instructor in many private language schools as well as state schools in my home-country Greece. As a result, I have experience with teaching students of different age groups as well as of different levels of expertise, ranging from A1 to C2 on the European Framework of Reference. I am now offering one-to-one tuition at home helping students with their academic studies. My lessons are also adequate for professionals who are interested in moving to a German speaking country or people who are just interested in the Greek language and culture.

I am Dimitra and I am an enthusiastic language teacher with more than ten years of experience teaching German and Greek. Having a strong academic background and huge passion for foreign languages I am the right person to support you, whether you want to start from scratch or to develop your already existing German skills.
Cultural immersion is in my opinion of major importance when learning a second language. This is why I always try to offer an insight into the culture of the foreign language using a variety of media such as articles, movies and literature. Practicing everyday use of language is another important aspect. I am well aware of the difficulties that may arise when learning a new language and this is why I am happy to create tailor-made lesson plans in order to adapt to the needs, abilities and objectives of my students. My aim is a stress-free, creative and engaging learning process. If required, lessons can be adapted to focus on specific areas such as grammar or writing practice.
